April 01, 2024
Get ready for a Fernbank April that’s full of exciting exhibits, events, programming and more.
EVENTS GALORE — Make sure your calendars are clear because you’re not going to want to miss any of Fernbank’s special events this month. First, Fernbank After Dark: Booze and Botanicals will be Friday, April 12 for those 21 and over. Then, Little Critters Day will be Saturday, April 20, where all ages are invited to enjoy time with baby animals (and some of the littlest creatures — spiders in Spiders: From Fear to Fascination). And finally, we round out April for adults 21 and over, who are invited to relive the glory days with Adult Prom: Back to the ‘80s on Friday, April 26.
GET OUTSIDE — Get ready for a weekend spent outdoors with the City Nature Challenge! Connect with nature and discover what kind of species live around you as you strive to help Atlanta become recognized as the most well-documented city for biodiversity.
Participation is EASY. Get outside in any local green space, including Fernbank Museum, and snap photos of nature using the app, iNaturalist. That’s it! Learn more about City Nature Challenge here.
FASCINATING FEAR — April marks the last full month of Spiders — From Fear to Fascination. Creepy crawl your way through this special exhibit and gain a web of knowledge as you view live and preserved spider specimens, dioramas, digital displays and more. Learn more about the exhibit here.
TAKE FLIGHT — Back by popular demand, guests can discover how plants and animals defy gravity when journeying through WildWoods to explore the returning outdoor exhibit, Flora, Fauna & Flight! You can learn more about the exhibit here.
Pro-tip: Take your camera and strike a pose! Photos are encouraged. Don’t forget to #FernbankMuseum
